This weekend I saw what I’m pretty sure was a white AMG GT S drive by; so that was cool.

Anyway; I did my first large section of clay bar work tonight. I don’t generally have enough time to clay and wax the entire car in one shot, so I decided to to it in phases. First phase was the hood, because it’s noticeably duller than most of the rest of the car, probably because of all the dirt and whatnot that hits it.
I was surprised by how much dirt appeared in the lube as I used the clay. I cleaned up and waxed afterwards, and it does look better, and feels much smoother, but I can see I’m going to need to polish it to get it really looking right again.

If you were local I'd let you use my griots garage polisher. That, combined with an orange pad and optimum poli seal (1 step polish/sealant) can really make a car look new, unless it's really messed up.

I’ve never seen the lube get dirty, the clay tends to capture everything.
I clayed a 5 yr old car last week that has sat outside since new, and had never been hand washed until right before I clayed it. I had to throw the clay away afterwards it was so filthy.
